I noticed that someone translated something about a link. E.g. the xxx in <a href="%s">xxx</a>

I was wondering if the link still works if that xxx part is translated.

Also in the F.A.Q. Translation guidelines nothing is written about this. Can someone explain to me how this works and can we update the F.A.Q. to include this information?

The only important thing is what is inside the <...> (Which is why you can't change it, framework prevent you to do that) so changing xxx is perfectly fine in your case
