Starter - tutorial scenarios list

I'm still working out the ins and outs of this site, so if this is in the wrong place, please excuse me.

I'm thinking it would be a good idea to have a list of scenarios specifically for beginning players.
This list should be only base rule maps, no "parachutes" , no special terrain (Hill 317, cliffs, etc), etc. Having completely new players land in the middle of Guam Landings or Stalingrad Red Barricades can be quite disheartening, IMO.

Any way - my 0.02DKK

I think if you start playing by the number order of the Base Game (BB) scenarios - Pegasus Bridge, St. Maire-Eglise etc., you should be good to go exploring the most basic stuff at first (no Armor or anything).

I'm not impressed with the scenarios as a "learning curve".
'Pegasus Bridge - sure, I agree - it's pretty simple, got next to no terrain and introduces sandbag and barbed wire, but St.Mere Eglise - while it does have 1 unit of armor - it rarely get to come out to play, it introduces a NEW and never-again-used mechanics for Paratroopers, who are, it turns out, not paratroopers the way they are otherwise described in the game rules (as Special Units).

I really just want first time players to have a good chance at getting the idea of the game, so that later, they can rage-quit because of bad dice, like the rest of us... :D

When demoing/teaching Memoir'44 we usually use Moyland wood and Sword beach.

Moyland wood only needs six rule cards (troops 1 standard units, troops 2 specialized Units, terrain 03 Forests, terrain 06 Hills, terrain10 Sandbags and terrain 14 Towns and Villages)

Sword beach has more because it needs more cards for the terrain. (troops 1 standard units, troops 2 specialized Units, terrain 01 Beach, terrain 02 Bunkers, terrain 03 Forests, terrain 05 Hedgehogs, terrain 07 Oceans, terrain 14 Towns and Villages and terrain 15 Wire)

Both scenarios are pretty balanced and make for an enjoyable introduction into M44.

If we have more tables available we tend to go East front and lay out Breakout to Lisyanka (which adds ravines, Frozen rivers and exit rules)
or
Gates of Moscow, but we play that without Commissar or the rule that Russian tanks only move 2.

They also seem to host mark with new players.

Advantage for most of them: enemy troops are close and the fighting starts early (read right away. :) )

Montelimar is a great scenario for beginner and experienced players.

Each side as infantry, armour, artillery and objectives to gain.
A good mix of terrain to use for offense and defense.

Balanced, both sides have a reasonable chance to win.
