Prevent audio ducking while playing on android?

I love playing on my phone, but if I'm listening to music or a podcast, the audio is temporarily quieted while a move is made, then immediately brought back up. I have my sound in the app completely turned off, but still my music gets muted constantly. Anyone know how to fix this? Is there another place I can find a setting to turn off the audio ducking?

Not an expert at all, take this with a grain of salt.

Audio gets "ducked" or suppressed for a moment when you receive a notification. Does a notification appear in your notification bar? Could you try having notifications blocked from the app to try it out?

Just tried turning off notifications, and it still happened. It's the sounds from the game itself, it doesn't duck audio for a notification. If I open a game I'm playing right now, it'll duck the audio as it loads the latest move, even though sound is turned off on the app

Oddly enough, I now experienced this for the first time. This was also the first time I was playing BGA and a movie at the same time.

My volume was turned down to 0, but it still occured.
But I noticed you can also mute the sound by clicking the 🔔➡️🔕 in your profile(click player icon in upperright corner to open the overlay tab where you see your volume).
This seemed to have done the trick.

Oh my god thank you. This was so annoying while playing a game with background music over bluetooth. Confirmed that this works for me too. To reiterate, just click on your player icon and make sure that the Sound icon is totally Xed out, not just down to 0. Using your phone's media playback volume alone does not work.

YESSSS THANK YOU!!!!!!
I was getting tripped up because I kept pressing the little volume icon above the slider, which just hides the slider. I needed to tap the button that's just to the LEFT of the slider. It worked, thank you!!!

I couldn't find the bell icon in the profile settings anymore... Found another workaround when using headphones to listen to music. Phone settings => Sound and vibration => Separate app sound => Force boardgame arena or the browser to use the speaker of the phone.

When the apps are on different speakers, they wont interupt eachother
