Statistic of Tichu's natural "14" hands

Post by Moina2020 »

Thanks :) to the great wealth of data on Tichu online games being played here at BGA that I have managed to conduct a simple survey on Tichu's natural "14" hands and the steps required to get rid of all 14 cards.

Tichu's natural "14" hands mean the original 14 cards, the players see before entering the cards-exchange phase.

The metric that I used to count the steps:

-----910JQKA count as 910JQK, A = 2 steps
-----AA count as A,A = 2 steps
----AAA count as A,AA = 2 steps
----AAAA count as A,A, AA = 3 steps

Examples:

DrDog 234677710QKAA = 12 steps ( a possible chance, to throw out 2,3,K and receive 2,3,K back, right? ;) )
DrDog 233356810JQAA =12 steps
Dr 12446899JQQKA = 11 steps
Dr 2458910101010QQAA = 10 steps
Dr 125568991010QKA = 10 steps
Dog 22456677910QKK = 9 steps
DrPh 357910QQKKAAA = 9 steps, Dr,3,5,7, 910PhQK, Q, K, A, AA vs 9 steps, Dr,3Ph,5,7,9,10, QQKK, A, AA
PhDog 123347810JKKA = 8 steps, 78Ph10J (select this) vs 9 steps, 1234Ph
23345567799JKA = 8 steps
12235567810JQKA = 8 steps
Ph 22344689JJJQA = 7 steps 22,3,44,6,89PhJQ,JJ,A vs 7 steps, 223Ph44,6,8,9,JJJ,Q,A
Dog 2334489910JQQK = 6 steps
DrPh 235688JQQKKA = 6 steps
Dr 224477888JJJA = 5 steps
4467888910JJJQK = 4 steps ( speed is good but strength to exit first?? )

50 random games (half games and classics for round one) yield 200 natural "14" hands:

Number of steps to rid of all 14 cards // Hand number#
3 1
4 9
5 20
6 38
7 35
8 44
9 28
10 15
11 7
12 3
Total: 200

So for number of hands that rid of all 14 cards within first 7 steps are 103 (1+9+20+38+35) or 51.5%. ;)

After cards-exchange, Player A sees in his hand: DrDog 22223889910QA, he knows despite having a Dr, A and a bomb of 2 (all signs of strength), he cannot fundamentally change his exit step at 8 to 7. He refrains himself from calling Tichu at our adult-Grand Tichu "easy 7" table (advance play). :P

Why? if you ask so, that is because kiddie Tichu players age 7 to 11 here in Malaysia have already done so, they already accomplish feats by calling Tichu and demonstrating that they can exit first (getting rid of all their 14 cards) at step 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14. They all did this by playing on the kiddie table/rule-Basic Tichu play with no steps limit and no Grand Tichu call. :D
