Castles of Burgundy Puzzles

Post by Pistol Star »

Hey guys. I had an idea to open this thread for puzzles regarding this beautiful game.

After each puzzle has been solved, anyone is free to add their own puzzle.
I think we could for example give the community 7 days time to solve a puzzle.
If after 7 days nobody has solved the current puzzle, the puzzle creator should reveal the solution.
In case somebody feels there was a mistake in the current puzzle creation or somebody finds an even better solution to the puzzle, please feel free to share your thoughts.

1st puzzle:

How to theoretically score 241 Victory Points with only 3 placed tiles (excluding the starting castle) during the game?

Use board #8 in a 4-player game and be the last player(4 workers and a silvering, means 3pts)starting with 3 same goods and set your starting castle in the Northwest of the board. Then:
1. Take and put KT#13(2 moves),sell goods(1 move and 1 silvering and 12pts,which means 13pts),buy and put KT#14(1 move,-2 silverings which means -2pts). And you get 13pts in completing a two-tiles area in stage A.
2. Take workers until stage E.(50-4-4=42moves,126 pts)
3. In stage E,buy a ship(-2 silverings,which means -2 pts),put it(1 move and 3 pts for completing a one-tile area in stage E),take 21 goods(7 per kind as 7 is the maxinum),Sell goods(3 moves,84pts and 3 silverings,which means 87pts).
In the end you'll get:3+13-2+13+126-2+3+87=241 pts. :)

A couple of very simple ones for those who like to calculate:
  1. What is the maximum VP for 1 player to score (2p, 3p, 4p, per board)?
  2. What is the maximum VP for all participating players to score (altogether - to get one player maximum the opponent(s) have to just roll the dice, but here each one has to score more to get the higher total)?
