Blocking orbit

Hi all,
Not sure if its just a rules difference/house rule or if it is selectable, but we've always played that you have have the exact number of pips to place a cube. So you would have to clear the orbit of other dice and make sure none of your own dice are in orbit (above the required pips). Just had a player place a cube while one of my dice were in orbit, (I was expecting them to try to clear it).

Im happy either way, just curious.
cheers

The rules states that only the dice in the 4 orthogonally adjacent squares to the planet count for placing a quantum cube. Your opponents' dice don't count towards the total and may be placed around the planet. Also dice in the tiles' corners don't count so you or your opponents can have dice there they won't count either.

In other words, it seems that you were playing with house rules, which don't apply here on BGA.

You can find the rules on BGG as Fun Gorge doesn't seem to host them anymore.
