Arena points not awarded?

I just won on game 325207003 (Abandon All Artichokes). I did not receive any Arena points for this win. I can't tell if this is considered a bug or some other weirdness?

Ok, this is now frustrating. I just won another Arena game and was not awarded any points once again - 325203974

In those games, you are a diamond-league player playing against silver-league opponents. I don't remember what the exact cut-off is, but you can't earn arena points if you are far above their level.
You can set your arena preferences to how far away from your level you want to play.

That's beyond frustrating. I found the setting. Thank you.

Hi,
I have the same problem, win 2 parties of TTR but giving no arena point.
Where can we found Arena preference to avoid this problem ?
I have found nothing about a limitation of the Arena level of our opponent.
Best regards. Menettm

It's in the same place you define other preference for each game. While in Arena mode on the Play Now page click the gear icon associated with the game you want to set and under "Opponent's level" set "Far from my level" to "I never want to play with."

Just to make it clear : you are still getting arena points. In the end of season, it's the player with the most AES that win the season. AES works exactly like ELO for all arena games you play, but these are not displayed until you reach final ligue of a game. Now for earning bronze/silver/... "points", there is indeed a cutoff : at most one ligue below iirc. But you are still gaining the AES points which are the only ones that matter at the end.

I am still a huge advocate for making the max +/-2 levels the default setting at least in 2p games. For most people it is understandably not understandable to get matched to opponents without any possible visible gain. I think most people play Arena to get the feeling of progress.

They tried that, but scrapped it, possibly because it doesn't work when it's implemented like this (just guessing):
Player A is in level 4, player B is in level 3. Player A's "settings" are levels 2-6, player B's setting are levels 1-5. The settings are different, so players A and B are never matched.

I know of the trial they did and it felt absolutely bugged. I absolutely do not understand why they haven't followed up on this. There must be a way to make it work. (And why +/-2 as default shall not work is beyond my understanding.)
I mean, how is it then working right now when I set the restrictions manually? Does that mean that once I set restrictions, I cannot get matched to anyone in a leauge above or below me who has the same restriction setting (say +/-2)? Your example would imply that. How is it currently done in simple mode? If you were right, that would mean the whole matchmaking system collapses if too many people set restrictions manually (not only in Arena). It's hard to believe that this an acceptable state for the admins but maybe I am wrong on this.
There also shouldn't be too little traffic to create matches in Arena under the default +/-2 restriction. Because if that is the case, they should just decrease the number of leagues. The whole problem can only arise if there are more than 3 leagues.
