what rules are used for ELO scoring in 2 vs 2 game ?

Hello everyone,
I recently have played in a 2 vs 2 players game of warchest, and my team won (we actually had a better experience of the game than both players of the other team) ; however I got my ELO score decreased, whether my partner got his increased, and I wonder if the right way to update the ELO in such a case would not be to combine both ELO scores of the players of the same team, and compare it to the same combination for the players of the other team, in order that both players of one team get the same increase/decrease of their ELO scoring ? Is this case already designed in BGA ? I mean having necessarily 2 players winning and 2 players loosing one game ?
