Waiting For Game Start Screen In Arena

I don't know whether these are bugs or whether there is some setting or something I just can't find, but when I queue up for an arena game I have a few issues at the "Waiting for game start" screen.
-Sometimes the "bell" sound doesn't ring when a game starts sometimes, if I am looking at another browser tab or window, so I end up missing the start of the game, especially if very few players are available and I'm browsing other things while I wait. I have all my volumes up, and the sound effects work during games, even if I tab away temporarily, so I don't know why the bell just doesn't ring sometimes for the start of the game.
-Whenever an opponent is matched to me, the "waiting" screen comes up and counts down 5 seconds before starting the game, without requiring me to confirm or click "Start Game". But sometimes, if the opponent is apparently not ready, the screen just waits forever saying "Waiting for opponent to click start" or something, and I have to either wait forever, or click "Cancel game start". Why is there this difference that I don't get to "confirm" starting a game, while the system waits for some opponents to "confirm" starting a game?
