Newbies quitting... a LOT

Feels like this week, a lot of first time players are showing up and then quitting about 30% into the game. This is such a time suck. Why so bad all of a sudden?

Honestly it's only happened to me once in over 7000 games on BGA and not noticed an increase this week
Seems just unlucky for you

Only happened once in recent times. And I blocked them afterwards. I think you just had a bad run. You can choose not to play with newbies.

As john0607 alluded to, you do have to power to avoid them if you take the effort. Using Manual game selection, create a table then click "Restrict Table Access" to the right of the "Players at this table" label, uncheck "Beginners," then click "OK." This preference should be saved when creating tables for this game in the future.
