Yes you read correctly.
I discovered BGA over 10 years ago when it was a small website. At the time, * was a much bigger website. But I like the user friendly feel and the community which was there. I have kept promoted BGA ever since.
I became a premium member and for the last 7 years I have always renewed my membership sometimes a few days late when I needed to upgrade my payment details (often when the credit card was no longer valid). Last year, I think ,BGA pledged to keep the same premium rate for people who were already subscribers for as long as they renewed their membership. This was incorrect. As I found out a few days ago. Since as soon as you change you premium payment details you end up paying the new rate.
Knowing how easy it is on any website to change your payment details without having that issue, I do feel cheated. A promise made was not kept. And it would have been so easily avoided by letting people know in advance.
It does hugely ternish the fantatsic work done otherwise by so many people here. What a shame!!

Quelle Dommage!

That's not really true. Quoting from that thread : "For the time being, there is absolutely no change for you as long as you keep your current subscription.".
Changing your bank account implies cancelling your subscription and creating a new one, so they technically kept their promises.
Dont get me wrong, I think they poorly communicated on that part, and that they should have raised the price for everyone instead, but they still technically not blamable for that promise.
(you can blame them for not being able to change your account without cancelling your subscription though, as many other did during last year)

Tisaac,
All the other websites I have a subscription for, I can keep my current subscription, i.e. the type of subscription I have, hence the price I pay, and change my contact details easily. Not the case here
Nonetheless we agree on the bad communication.

Ok so you guys just havent read my full answer....
"Changing your bank account ___ON BGA___ implies cancelling your subscription and creating a new one, so they technically kept their promises on the subscription thing."
Again, feel free to be mad about the fact that you can't change the bank account without cancelling your subscription all you want (and I agree 100% with that), but just don't claim BGA promised anything about that. They said you will keep the price as long as the subscription is not cancelled and that's what was done.

This feels a little willfully selective on interpretation.
Obviously the problem is exactly what Tissac is saying....but its not an explaination, its a problem. One that should be solved, and anyone who hits it should get something more helpful from the BGA team like "contact us directly and we will make this right".
The entire complaint is justified and remediable.

You don't have to change your bank `account to be caught out this way. If your card expires or, in my case, if there is a problem processing payment initially on the same card (as happens quite often with international card payments), you will be reinstated at the new, higher rate. So the post by Souris was knowingly misleading: none of us can stay at the old rate forever, just until our card expires and is replaced. (With my bank, that happens every 2 years or less.)

Having a missing feature is different from not keeping a promise IMO, at least on the truth I can give to BGA (which is also what this topic is about), so that's why I wanted to insist on the distinction, quoting the original post made by sdd.
Now it's up to you to either believe that the "not being able to change bank account without cancelling subscription" issue is kept that way on purpose to kick player out of old price, or just because the team is already busy as heck implementing/fixing other things. (or both)
