Wish there were even more trick-taking games here

I'm a big fan of trick-taking, and I wish there was a wider selection of that here. Don't get me wrong: I'm very grateful of all the games we DO have - but surely you'll agree, that compared to other genres, the trick-taking genre isn't as thoroughly represented. What I mean by this, that there really isn't a trick-taker equivalent for every Carcassonne, every Azul, every Santorini, every Ticket to Ride, etc. in terms of similar fame (with obviously a few exceptions, such as Tichu and The Crew).

Here's just a brief list of examples of popular, fun games I'd love to see here:
Texas Showdown
The Bottle Imp
Cat in the Box
The Fox in the Forest
Voodoo Prince / Marshmallow Test

I understand BGA has limited say in which games they are able to include in their line-up, and it's more up to the designers/publishers themselves: but nevertheless, just wanted to voice my wish in case good things might happen. Again, I really appreciate what BGA does and what it's managed to become during its existence, so my sincerest thanks for that!

As for trick-taking, i i feel it's probably more up to the lack of dev, i don't see many publisher blocking those games ... lots of game are ported here by passionated players who seem to try to figure out how coding.
Some are on their way to beta (mu, tien len), some are struggling (yokai septet), ..

And you still have lots of huge domain public games still not ported .. konigsrufen, doppelkopf, tractor, mighty, jass, guandan, ..

Lack of devs for public domain games. License problem for others.

Anyway, if you like to try more trick taking (or other) classic card games, you can check this database for rules (english and partly german): https://www.pagat.com/

I see 43 trick-taking games out of 665 games in total. That doesn't look terribly under-represented. It's twice as many as engine-building games, for example. (Although that may partly be a case of tagging, because I would class Splendor as a minimalist engine-builder).

The absence of bridge is understandable: people who want to play bridge have dedicated sites. I agree that it would be nice to have Bottle Imp. But maybe a bigger need is players who want trick-based games. Solo Whist, for example, suffers from a lack of players.

How comes I see only 39 trick-taking games out of 579 games in total? Does your number include alpha games?

Probably, yes. I am a reviewer.

Well, yes, and even the great classic Piquet is missing. Since it’s sometimes a hassle waiting for players to move with more than two, I’d vote for some of the other great two-player trick-taking games, like WYSYWIG, Slam, Nullos, Jo-Jotte, etc, etc.

If you really want something to be on BGA (especially public domain games) you should do it yourself.
Most developers (if not all active developers), including myself, are not interested in games you mentioned.
