Hi.

In the settings for Agricola, there's an option called "Competitive level" which has choices for "Beginner," "Normal," and "Competitive." What does this mean exactly? What do they do?

Beginner has no cards.
Normal has cards for whichever set/s of cards you choose to play with.
Competitive has certain "annoying" and "overpowered" cards removed from the decks.

Banlist mode removing overpowered cards: B10_Caravan, A133_Braggart, C3_CarriageTrip, D4_CrossCutWood, D97_BeggingStudent, A33_BigCountry, A82_WorkCertificate, B151_LittlePeasant, D137_TradeTeacher
