Turn based game creation abandoned?

I see that quite often, "Game abandoned, All players have left the game before it started"...
What does this mean exactly? Once you register for a turn based game, you don't have to do anything to get a game, right? You just wait for it to happen?
So how do they get abandoned all the time?

Yes, but it doesn't wait forever. There is a maximum time (1 hour for real-time games, 2-3 days for turn-based games), after which a table is automatically closed if the game didn't start. And a turn-based game doesn't start until the specified number of players join the table, so I guess there were not enough players (and yes, the message is not quite accurate).

Game Creation is the worse thing about BGA and it keeps getting worse!
* does this great, invite al your friends at once and they choose to join or decline, once the game is filled it starts.
