How is chronos time calculated?

We’re doing a ten-season championship but chronos time is… weird. In the first race, the person who came in sixth was third fastest

Your ending speed each turn determines how much time has passed. Distance has no effect.
1st: 50s
2nd: 40s
3rd: 30s
4th: 20s
5th: 15s
6th: 10s
Then you subtract 1s for each focus token.

This is from when it was just a game about rally racing (though the times were a little different because the original edition cars only had 5 gears maximum). Running a time trial is not the same as running a race, so thinking in terms of position will mess up your thinking.
