How/where do you see what parameters are being used in the current arena for games that have variations? tia

Thanks but i don't think this answered my question. I'd like to know how to see what the parameters are for a game in arena mode before playing. Something as basic as how many players will play in arena mode games, to other variations based on the specific game. Is there a way to do that? Thanks

From the arena page there is a link but it's not working now apparently (see for exemple bug report https://boardgamearena.com/bug?id=46056).

In the mean time you can open the game page of your choice (search menu on top left) set the game mode to Arena and the parameters for this season will be displayed.
Alternatively if you use the Play now page in Arena mode you can click on the gear symbol at the left of a game, and click display advanced options to see them all.

Sorry, I think I misread your question as "how are the Arena rules decided?". As Nastaa said, the proper link has been nonworking for some time (see also https://boardgamearena.com/bug?id=73039).
