Reputation restriction

I just went to create a new game (Tranquility: The Ascent) and noticed that the option to play only with 85% reputation has gone on the new game creation page. Why??
It's bad enough that choosing not to play with rude/slow players means you are labelled 'restrictive'.
Even worse, when I selected 75%+, the menu kept defaulting back to no reputation restriction. Has anyone else experienced this? (Not going to report it as a bug yet, as I fear it may be part of the push to get us all accepting anyone who wants to play, regardless of the quality of our gaming experience.)

I just tested and was able to select both >= 85% and >= 75% with no problem using the old lobby system.
As the description explains, >= 85% can be a problem because it prevents beginners from joining games.

Yes, I understand BGA thinks 85% is a problem because of excluding beginners, but if we want to do that, it should be our choice.
Also, my point referred to game creation using the new page: I see no reason why it should limit reputation restriction more than the old page does. And since we have been told that eventually the new page will become the only option, this change (if it's not a bug) will eventually impact everyone.

I see no problem with leaving beginners to play with beginners. No one is ever prevented from playing on BGA. All are free to start a game if no open table matches their level and karma.
When I begin a new game, I make it just open to beginners and exclude average and above players.
We should get to play with who we want to play, and the level of expertise we want. Thousands playing here at all times, no one is being left out.
Nnt everyone is a good fit at all times. A huge mismatch of skills/ experience is often not fun for either the more or less experienced player.
Plus, we are free to not accept the game if a lower karma than would be fun for our level tries to join- just say no
