sadly, the new layout changes make the game almost unplayable on mobile. is there a way to undo or fix them?

* the cards are now not lined up and the score cards and achievements are now hanging off the side.

* the pop-up screen for cards in the score pile is now three wide rather than two, making it difficult to read.

* rather than all being in a vertical line, the five card piles are now scattered haphazardly, some with two in a row and some with one.

Please, please, revert these changes. I appreciate all the effort, and love the 0/6 and the counters, but unfortunately these changes do not work correctly.

This is frustrating as I have moves that have to be made soon and the game is no longer playable. I can't see the whole game area on mobile.

Please undo this as soon as possible.


I have to switch back and forth between "bottom" and "right" in order to see everything. On "right" I can't see the draw piles and remaining achievements. On "bottom" I can't see the right half of my play area, so I can't see my whole hand. Only the left half is shown.

In both cases there is the problem that each color does not have its own line.

Hello, and thanks for the feedback! I will say that you're in the minority here, since we tested these new changes extensively in the alpha.

We won't be reverting the changes, but can you please attach some screenshots so that we can see what you're talking about? Please also tell me which device and browser you are using.

In the meantime, to address your ongoing games, try using Chrome if you aren't already. And if mobile is still giving you trouble, maybe try desktop?

thanks for the response! I'm using the BGA app on Android, which I believe just opens the page in Chrome.

It used to be perfectly laid out for mobile - now it's like the phone is trying to view the desktop layout.

I'll attach some screenshots, and I'll see if I have any "before" ones also... one second.

As you can see, the score pile is shown in rows of three, instead of two, and the right half is cut off.

This is basically how it used to look before, but with two issues:

1. before, each color had its own line; now, sometimes two colors share a line. This is annoying, since the piles move around throughout the game, but not a huge problem. This never happened before.

2. the draw piles and remaining achievements are nowhere to be seen.

Thanks for the helpful screenshots! And which device are you using? And which version of Android?

this is on a OnePlus 9 using Android 12.

So part of the mobile issue seems to be that there is a problem in determining whether there is enough space to display something.

The BGA app appears to use Firefox, at least the three dot menu in the upper right says "Powered by Firefox." (see attached screenshot)

When I open it in Chrome, I get what looks like the desktop version on mobile (see attached screenshots).

As you can see, everything is visible, but it's tiny and difficult to play.

I really loved this game on mobile before the change - every pile had its own line and it was really easy to see everything and play. I hope this gets fixed.

I've made some progress! The issue seems to happen on mobile devices using the Firefox browser. I managed to replicate it on my own device, which will make it easier for me to fix. I'll keep you posted on my progress.

But even on Chrome, there's a problem, which is that the phone seems to be displaying the desktop layout instead of the mobile one.

Here's a screenshot of how it looks on my phone with Chrome. As you can see, it's showing a desktop layout, making it difficult to read or play on the phone.
