According to BGG https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/375 ... e/versions there is only a french version of the game "61 Feuilles d'automne", but the title given on BGA is english "61 Autumn leaves". Should this be changed?

In translation headquarter we are requested to use the "original" name of the game, if there doesn't exist a physical version in our language. So does this mean we should consider the french or the english name as "original"?

I'm sure there must be a precedent for this at BGA by now. Not all those German games have been published as English versions yet have they? Yet might be available digitally?

IMHO: I appreciate the translation to English, regardless of whether it exists physically yet.

Until the rule is officially altered, there should be no arbitrary exeptions.

Of course it makes some sense to use the title in which the game was released in the respective country. Some games might have been published under different titles in countries which use the same language though.

I personally believe that it is quite dumb and confusing to use different (by language) names for the same unique thing, as you can often see in cities, places or language lists. That could apply to games too. In this case the original Français title is even sufficiently similar to its English equivalent to be understood.

So in my opinion the original language title should be used, at least if the game was not released (under a different name) in the respective language's countries. If it's in a different script a transcript can be added.

It can and should always be allowed to add a translation into the target language, though it can never reflect the original words' depth.

E.g. in Deutsch:
"61 Feuilles d'automne - 61 herbstliche Blätter"
or
61 Feuilles d'automne (61 Herbstblätter)"

6 nimmt was not presented as Take 5 … so that seems inconsistent, if the available game in region/country/language is supposed to be used.
