Board Game Arena

So I played my first multiplayer game. I gathered a lot of wood and 2 yellow tokens but multiple times from mid-game to late-game it was impossible to do the farm expansion action. I really don't understand why. Can you explain? This is one instance where I couldn't do it.

I didn't reply the whole game - but you refer to "yellow tokens", presumably grain. But you had no reed (the similar-looking white tokens), which is what is required, in addition to the basic building material (wood, clay or stone) to build a room.
