Vault: if gold on card, gain 2 essences...

At the start of my turn, I am asked if I would like to take gold or leave it on the card...if I take it, I won't be able to gain resources next turn...what if I have two gold on the card? I have two at the moment...will there be a popup if I would like to take 1 or 2 gold or will the game take 2 automatically?

How are the rules in the physical version on this? I found the topic on Boardgamegeek and asked the designer.

I answered on BGG too before seeing this, but yeah, when you take essences off a card you have to take them all.
