Is there a way to see all the tricks?

Post by Stuff by Bez »

I've played a few times, enjoying it, and am curious to try some other trick sets. But when choosing a new trick set, the names mean absolutely nothing to me.

Is there a list of all the tricks somewhere?

If not, could there be?

Not sure if there is a list somewhere. But you could play the off leash variant, which is designed to cycle through all of the available tricks.

Or support the publisher by purchasing the game.

(Yes, not what you were really asking, but I couldn't resist plugging a great publisher)

The rulebook list what tricks are in each recommended set. However I couldn't find anything that clearly explains what each trick involves. (Also the adoption event set doesn't appear to be implemented for some reason).
Adding variety to future plays:
After you’ve played with the first set of trick tiles, go ahead
and mix things up by using some of the other tiles provided.
• Every game uses exactly 6 trick tiles.
• Always include Howl and Roll Over.
• Include 1 additional tile from each of the 4 color categories
(each color also has a different rosette style). These can
be selected randomly, or you can use some recommended
sets on the next page.

Adoption Event: Walk, Run, Fetch, Beg
Dog Park: Dig, Chase, Guard, Chew
Agility Course: Trot, Bolt, Fetch, Gobble
Hunting Grounds: Retrieve, Sprint, Hunt, Stay
Kennel Club: Track, Dogpile, Search, Beg
Puppy Pen: Retrieve, Bolt, Scavenge, Play Dead
I found a few images where you can read the description for one or two tricks that aren't part of the beginning 6 tricks (links below), but unfortunately no one seems to have submitted a clear photo of all the tricks yet.

You can play solo games and go through the entire pre-set list.

It's implemented. It's the beginner set; the rules describes that set both ways.

Default (Red) Abilities:

-Howl-
If you have fewer than 6 dog cards, draw the top card of the dog deck and add it to your pack.
Then,
Roll 1 die.

-Roll Over-
Roll all your buried dice and then place or rebury them.
Then,
You may roll 1 die.

--------------------
Yellow Abilities

-Walk-
Roll 2 dice.
Then,
You may roll 1 die.

-Dig-
For each <paw> on your dog cards, you may raise or lower any player's buried die by 1. (Lowering a 1 discards the die.)
Then,
Roll 2 dice.

-Retrieve-
Take 1 die and set it to any number shown on the top card of the dog deck. Place or bury it.
Then,
Roll 2 dice.

-Track-
Roll 3 dice.
Then,
If you spend treats to reroll the result, you may choose to reroll only some of the dice.

-Trot-
You may move 1 die on your dog cards to any other space, changing the number if needed.
Then,
Roll 2 dice.

--------------------
Purple Abilities

-Run-
Roll 3 dice.
Then,
You may roll 1 die. You may repeat this second step as many times as you want.

-Chase-
Roll 1 die.
You may repeat this trick as many times as you want, but each time roll 1 more die than you just did (2, 3, 4...)

-Bolt-
Set aside 3-12 dice.
Then,
Roll 1 of these at a time. You may stop early if you have at least as many <paw> as dice left to roll.

-Sprint-
Roll 1 die for each of your dog cards that has an unfilled space.
You may repeat this trick as many times as you want.

-Dogpile-
Take 2 dice, plus 1 more from your buried dice or dog cards (if you have any). Roll them all. You may repeat this trick as many times as you want.

--------------------
Blue Abilities:

-Fetch-
Roll 8 dice.
Choose a number you rolled, and place or bury all dice of that number. Discard the rest.

-Guard-
Name a number and roll 4 dice.
Discard any dice greater than the number you named. Place or bury the rest.

-Scavenge-
Roll 4 dice.
You may discard any dice lower than the total number of spots on all your buried dice. Place or bury the rest.

-Search-
Roll 7 dice.
If you can, place or bury a set of dice showing a total of exactly 8 spots. Discard the rest.

-Hunt-
Roll 2 dice along with 1 more die for each <paw> on your dog cards.
Place or bury 2 of the dice. Discard the rest.

--------------------
Green Abilities:

-Beg-
Take 1 treat.
Then,
Take 1 more treat for each <paw> on your dog cards.

-Chew-
Double your treats.
Then,
Take 1 more treat.

-Play Dead-
Roll 1 die.
Then,
If you buried the die without busting, take 1 treat for each spot showing on the die.

-Gobble-
Take 7 treats.
Then,
Return 1 treat for each spot in your highest unfilled space.

-Stay-
Take 1 treat for each facedown trick tile other than this one.

I wish I could, but the publisher is not publishing in my country.
