Catan - Extension to more players / more space

Hi,
I was wondering if devs could extend the map in order to get more space and more players.
I suggest adding 1 more exagon all around the map, it would double the ressources available, and so maybe extend the number of players to 6 ?
Also, I thought it could be nice to be able to modify the win condition from 10 victory points to another number, 12 or + would be nice (for this larger map).
Sorry if this topic is already created, looked on several places here on the forum but couldn't find anything similar.
Tyyyy

What ? This does not sounds an official thing at all and games Can only implement official stuff due to license agreement contracts

There is a 5-6p expansion adding 1 hex around

and you can build (and only build) after each player round, so robber doesn't become too powerful with 5-6 players.
But it's still 10 points to victory.

This X 1000. Catan's popularity is due to its simplicity and potential for player interaction. The overall game design is poor. The original 3-4 player board is too small and simply guarantees that at least one and probably two players are going to be out of the game from the beginning. That is one of the issues that contributes to the kingmaker problems that some players complain about.
The developers need to implement many of the common house rules such as friendly games in which the robber is not in play until everyone has at least three points. The robber is one of the more unbalanced facets of the game and should not be out early. Another house rule we play is with 3-4 players we use the expansion board. This results in the game with better access to resources in which all of the players have a chance to win instead of a lucky one or two as with the smaller board. It also enables a wider range of playing strategies. We also play to 11, and the developers here need to add more Victory point flexibility. That cannot be a copyright issue since it is already available on the digital Edition.
At present many of us who would be playing here do not because of the lack of flexibility of the current implementation of the game. The developers should set out a discussion for house rules and implement the possibility of five or six of them.

As i said right above, developpers are bounded to the extent of the license approval agreement. Which means that anything non official must be specifically approved by publisher first. So no, you are not going to see any house rule anytime soon for good reasons
