DoW code only for new players?!?

I just received an email from Days of Wonder with a code for BGA for my ingots. Unfortunately, the code is only for players on BGA who don't have a subscription yet. Given that Memoir44 has been available for months already, I have the feeling that there are only a very small amount of players who don't have a subscription yet.
Why can't I use this on an existing subscription?

I did use it on an existing subscription not realising it was only for Memoir '44 and thinking it might extend my subscription but instead I got... nothing. This is a wonderful "offer".

Most or M44 players already have a BGA account
This won t cost much to DOW

I don't have a subscription, I don't want a subscription. Am I able to give my 3-month code to another user that doesn't have a subscription?

Thanks for enjoying M44 on BGA
There are two cases here:
- For those who have a small number of ingots, DoW offers you an access to M44 only (= no access to other Premium games nor other Premium features). I confirm that this is not very useful if you already have a BGA Premium subscription, but DoW really wanted to offer something to you (even with a small number of ingots) so this is still cool.
- For those who have a larger number of ingots, DoW offers you some free Premium months. Even if you already have a Premium subscription, these free months will delay your next payments so this is definitely something worthy for you.

Anybody have a use for a three-month Subscription for M44? I'll never use it. PM me if you're interested. Of if somebody is starting a tournament and wishes to include a three month...

I am one of these
But I have not found out how to add the free months to my premium subscription.
I read somewhere that to take advantage of the BGA gift points you could unsubscribe and resubscribe. So I tried that, hoping I could fill in my promo code there, but was unsuccessful. Just re-entered my credit card numbers but got no pop-up to redeem the code.
If anyone knows a way to redeem the code I would be grateful to know how.
If not I will gladly stay a premium member here and thank Days of Wonder for the service they have provided the last decade.

I'm new to playing Memoir 44 online. Wanting to try it out for me and my kid. We regularly play the base game with a few expansions. If anyone has a spare code, I would use it!

Thanks for the clarification, would have been useful if that had been included in the original mail.
