Before posting this in the "Bugs" forum, I wanted to confirm my understanding before I do.....

When taking benefits, they are always optional. For example, during the green action, the benefits are:
1. Plant up to two cards
2. Draw four cards, choose 1, and then Gaia the three I didn't choose.

To my understanding, I do not have to draw four cards if I don't want to. The game, however, does not give me that option and automatically draws four.

That’s true for the cards abilities, but it doesn’t apply to the actions themselves.
In the case of the green action, for the action taker, planting cards is optional, drawing cards isn’t.
« you MAY plant up to 2 cards […] then DRAW 4 cards and keep 1 »
In this rulebook section, there are clearly sentences with may (optional) and some which aren’t. For example, in the red action, taking 2 cards from the deck to the compost isn’t optional as well.
