Players given option to decline arena games

Today, I waited an extremely long time for an arena game table to fill. When a third player finally joined, the game did not start as it should have, but instead waited for this third player to accept or decline. I waited a couple of minutes for any activity, but there was none, so I cancelled the game start. It was annoying to have waited so long and then not to have got a game. Why would this player have been given the option to accept or decline? In arena games, that should not be possible.

I don't know, but if the third person couldn't bring themselves to just click "Accept" then they probably wouldn't be a reliable opponent for the full game.

Are you sure the third player was actually given the opportunity to accept or not? Couldn't it be just some connectivity/network issues, and the system was waiting for the player's browser to send some data or something, rather than the human player to accept?

It could be something like that. But I have myself had an arena game which offered me the chance to accept or decline. I don't recall the exact circumstances unfortunately - it was not recently and as far as I recall, has only happened to me once.

I’ve seen this several times and wondered the same thing. I don’t think it is a connectivity thing because people join arena all the time and get booted for not being there when the game finally starts.
