As a non-premium game, even

I find numbers very low, would have expected 800+ tables running

It's a fun game, but quite niche and not so well known. So I'm not surprised that the number of games being played at a time is not 800, or even 500. Then again, I wouldn't have thought it to be well below 100. This game definitely earns better than that. But one can't choose who plays what of course, so that will always be the faith of some great, but lesser known games.
