Board Game Arena

Started playing Wingspan in arena. I have managed to set preferences once, but i cannot seem to find anymore how i did that. I keep being dealt diamond and elite players to play to.
Is it the intention to be all thrown in the same pool? Or are there settings possible, and if so, where are the settings?

Besides the number of players selection there is a door icon you can click to restrict the Elo and karma level of your opponents.

One has to go to ‘play now’, click the arena icon, click the settings button, and start game from there. Every time you want to enter the arena, because if not, you just get thrown in the pool. Tedious and discouraging.

I can't find this season's rules. I can see a link in the "hall of fame" page but it does not seem to go anywhere.
