This thread is for the discussion of developint the Kaverit tounament formula
The tournaments are now played by a small group of invited players, but the plan is to make it open tournament in future.

We could test the Multiplayer Elimination (Moninpelieliminointi). I.g. there are many groups of 4-8 players and 4 of them continue to the next round.

What do you think

On what basis would the scenarios be selected?

That is as important as your tournament format.

Good question. Now I have simply asked everybody and selected based on their oppinions. If it is technically possible I would have three different type of scenarios that are played after each other. Now we are having two scenarios and their results are summed together manually, because Boardgamearena is lacking the features to do that automatically.

For an open tournament everything in the tournament must run automatically, so I think some other solution must be found.

I am considering to launch a tournament with these settings. Please give suggestions of changes in any details.
(Note that the tournament formula is still in beta stage)

Kaverit Open • Two Rounds
Memoir '44 Tounament
Amount of players 20-75
4th of June 2023 UTC 18

Players are first divided into groups of 4-15 for the first stage.
The three best players of each group advance to the final stage.

1. stage:
full rounds for 5 groups
3 players will continue to the next stage

2. stage
full round of max 15 players

Duration of a game: maximum 15 days (7 days for each player)
☯ ≥ 75%
The level of player required: middle level or more
The scenario is changed to:
[MT] [4230] Saartoliike Bir Hakeimissa (Flanking Maneuver at Bir Hakeim) (was [MT] [4245] Kuoleman rautatie (Hellfire Pass))

Both rounds will be the same scenario (restriction of the system)

I am going to open for registration at 15th May the Kaverit Open • Two Rounds. Please give any comments on the Forum before that date. The details can be still fine tuned up that point.

The scenario is changed to:
[MT] [4230] Saartoliike Bir Hakeimissa (Flanking Maneuver at Bir Hakeim)

It is more balanced and less random - thank you for good advices Waikirikiri!

I just saw this, but my feedback is: that's a lot of matches on the same scenario. Up to 14 in Round 1 and 14 in Round 2.
