Picking up and finishing a game that appears to be in Limbo?

Post by BitBlitz »

I asked about Pinochle back in a year or two ago and it's still in Alpha.

@Onen, the developer, his profile page shows not online for 8 months.

It seems maybe this game is in limbo, is there a process for another dev to pick it up and finish it?

Thanks,
B

If the game is still in alpha and the developer has been inactive for a long period, you may copy and fix the existing code, or may build a new code from scratch if needed.
When it is done, request alpha release and ask the admin to overwrite the project by replying the ticket.

I have a question in the same vein - what if the administrator of the project is also limboed? Is there some process to literally take over and become the new admin? Or are you saying that once we download and fix the code and then upload those fixes, we would become the admin of that project?

Send a ticket through BGA Studio and the admins will check your request.

remember to first check if the license is still granted or the editor still exists in case one is needed...
