What happens when your board is full?

I just managed to fill my board completely at the end of the game:

Now I wonder what will happen if you pick more tiles than you can place on your board. Has anyone experienced this?

Offical answer (for the printed version):
"
Choose the Animals you wish to keep and place them with the usual rules on your board. Then put the remaining Animals back into the bag."

Here on BGA, it seems to be implemented a bit different: "Got a last draw with 4 different animals, there was only room for 3 on my board.
The game it self selected 3 animals for me and it was not the best"
