cant join the game, if I have no friends?

Hello all! apparently i missed the update, now i can't play for free with anyone, but only with my friend?
I should select friend firstly. But I want to play simple game with everyone, who wants to play right now.
Is is because I am free player?

On the lobby page, choose the "Automatic" option instead of "Friends". Hope that helps...

The lobby page zoomboom mentioned is the "Play Now" page. In some cases you might have issues using the "Automatic" option, thus I recommend to select "Simple game" and "Real time" and "Manual" in the top banner.
As a non premium player you are allowed to join each game, unless the table owner restricted it e. g. to friends, to a certain language... You can even open a table yourself for non premium games like Kingdom Builder or Stone Age. But as a non premium player you are not allowed to open a table of a premium game (showing the yellow flag / tag like Azul, Catan or Carcassonne) or some of the expansions.
