It would be helpful if we have a way to put a marker on empty squares in the grid which are only visible to the player (not opponents). This could serve as a reminder as to what color the player is intending to put in that empty spot.

If possible, this should be an optional customization that is disabled by default (so as not to confuse new players)

That would be a really cool idea. Especially when it comes to diagonals it can be hard to keep track and could speed up the game overall.

I think that sounds like a really good idea. It would be especially helpful for people like me who don't have the best memories I think it should be togglable, definitely.
