Player quits game -- account does not exist -- ghost??

Why I get a message that an account does not exist when the playere was JUST in a game and abandoned it?

So I just searched for the actual name of the person rather than clicking their name from the table they abandoned. I do find a profile with that name showing they've played 0 games so far with a reputation of 75% and they are playing again the game they quit before. Does BGA let people kill a profile and then immediately create a new one under the same name?

I don't get the point of playing like that. Doesn't sound fun or productive.

I think someone can delete a profile like that, killing all the active games they were playing...it happened against me once.

I don't know if they can recreate it under the same name...that seems bad.

same happened to me, with the exception mine is a real time game at its 90% progression, and the player was winning and actually had 100+ELO , and suddenly they quit and when I clicked their name it says "This player does not exist (account closed by player or for inactivity)", did they just delete their account suddenly in a realtime game?? lol

I wrote about a similar incident in another post. I played someone who immediately after the game typed obscenities in the chat. Before I had time to report them, which I tried to do immediately, they'd already deleted their account.
