What does the score tracker track?

Playing my first game of Anachrony. Trying to figure out how it is calculating the player's scores, but can't make it add up no matter what scoring categories I include/exclude. Plus it seems to change when it shouldn't, and not change when it should.

Anybody got an explanation?

Edit: To be clear, I mean the scores it shows for each player DURING the game.

Your in-game score is the top half of score sheet based on the current board state, so your VPs from (a) buildings, (b) superprojects, (c) time travel token, (d) morale token, and (e) VP tokens less your (f) anomalies and (g) timeline penalties. For timeline penalties, the game assumes that you are not able to fulfill it, so your in-game score will reflect -2VP for each token you have on the timeline. Accordingly, if you remove a timeline token with a successful time travel, you will see a pretty significant swing in VPs.

It does not include any VPs from the end game scoring conditions.
