In the physical game, there is no Crown track or area, just the Flag and Axe. What is it and what determines how many stones go in it?

In the physical game, there is no Crown track or area, just the Flag and Axe. What is it and what determines how many stones go in it?

There's no stones in it, it's keeping track of how many territories each color controls so you don't have to do it in your head like in person. That number itself updates with axe/flag tie breakers, but the one flaw I've noticed is that it doesn't show you the endgame tie breakers if two colors are tied. So just be aware of that.
