Why does whomever I play always go first except sometimes the first round. This is an unfair advantage.

The first player who takes stones from the centre gets the White stone. It goes in the last line and is a minus point. It also gives you the privilige to start the next round.

Might be worth repeating in the rules or putting in bold or something in the rules.

Now that I know the rule, I can find it, but as a new player, I was getting frustrated that, after nearly 100 rounds of play, I had only drafted 1st one time.

I've hosted 9 games, and I have never started 1st. If it gets to 20 or so and is still a pattern, I guess I'll report a bug?

Have you ever done a rematch against the same player? I think BGA systematically switches starting player. If you are second in both games then definitely a bug worth filing!

For games 11 and 13 I went first, so no bug, just a long stretch.

But putting in some additional emphasis of the 1st Tile would help.
