Make "simple" mode fully optional

I have tried to use both automatic mode and simple mode but I don't like them. They offer less transparency, less control, and I don't find them that simple. Maybe beginners do though, I'll accept that.
What frustrates me is that in different cases, I am forced into simple mode, even temporarily, typically if I try a new game, if I accept an invitation, if I offer a revenge (2nd game, "revanche" in French), etc.
Wouldn't it be possible to completely make the "simple" mode optional? Or, in other words, to make the classic mode be used as default mode? This could be offered in the options of the account.

Feel free to give your feedback, to say if you relate, what you think of the "simple" mode, as well as to indicate me where I can, already, settle "classic mode" as default (in all situations) if case be.

The terminology you are using is ambiguous. By your description of "simple mode" I tell you are referring to the new fancy single-game lobby in contrast to the multi-game lobby found under the "Play Now" link. But "Play Now" also has a "simple" option (Simple Game vs. Arena vs. Tournaments) and at first glance someone can be confused to thinking you're talking about that.

I agree that the new single-game lobby should NEVER, EVER be forced on the user, even for a rematch, and certainly should never become the only option.

I'm talking of two things: the "simple mode" and the "automatic mode". I dislike them both.
What I mean with "simple mode" is what you get when you click on rematch, or on a new game, etc.:

I call it "simple mode", because I vaguely remember it being called that way. But it's not really named on BGA in fact. It's manifestly what you call "single-game lobby".

What I mean by "automatic mode" is the one you get in the main "playing" lobby: "Amis" (friends), "automatique", "manuel". Obviously, that is what you name "simple". They used different words in French and English.
I agree that the new single-game lobby should NEVER, EVER be forced on the user, even for a rematch, and certainly should never become the only option.
To be fair, it's never really "forced" and "the only option". (or it depends what you call this way)
The automatic mode ("simple mode" in your English lobby) is only forced for Arena, for obvious reasons. I am not complaining over this.
As for the simple mode (single-game lobby), I can always then go to the main lobby once the table is created. It's just stupid that it work this way. It's always the same scenario: I try a new game that I find on "the games", so it makes me create a table in the single-game lobby, and then I have to change to the main lobby and find back my table there. And maybe, for instance, I can discover that there is already a table available and join it.
Similarly, if I click on "rematch", I am sent on the single-game lobby.
Or if I accept an invitation.
The point is, I used to be directly sent to the main lobby (before this single-game lobby was created), and there is no reason this should not be possible now. It would just be a matter of allowing people (in the options in their profile) to change their default mode to the main lobby. I am probably not the only one who would benefit from it. And I don't see why this should not be easily feasible by the website.
To be fair, it's more of a small annoyance than a big issue.

I don't like to use the "new lobby" too, but I don't mind to just add a new game I just discovered to my favorite list, and then click on the Play now link in the main menu.

This is really not a big deal imo.

I agree, the "Play Now" lobby is more efficient and functional for me, and as long as it keeps working I am happy.

I think you didn't get it correctly yet. Those are the same in English on the Play now lobby: "Friends, "automatic", "manual".

Meeplelowda has described where the expression "simple game" is used on BGA:

What your are referring to (starting a game from the game page) is called "new lobby". I think the discusssion were easier if you used this term instead.

BGA has stated somewhere in the forums that they plan to delete the Play now page in the future. So then evereyone has to use the new lobby for each game. I agree with the other voices here that I strongly dislike this concept.
