I should use it more, too: 3+ gaias = 9+ points! Thanks for posting.jeffdorsey01 wrote: ↑02 September 2023, 23:39 Felt like the map really lent itself to using the Gaia Planet -> 3 VP tile and got quite a few points off of that - it's not usually a tile I take!
Did you take the advanced tech for feds too early? I will list your score as 182 but it deserved to be higher.

jgpaladin 214 vs Automa 126

Current path definitely seems better than my earlier attempts.
3 feds, tons of research (44 points), and taking advantage of the round bonuses.
Timing of Gaia expansion is pretty key since you can get 7 points per mine on a gaia planet if you grab the +3 tech to add to the round bonus.
And yes, I am thoroughly enjoying this challenge.

First economy & science, then gaia + navi, took advanced tech 1st from science, and then from economy.

Markus_12 263 vs Alptraumata 233 – https://boardgamearena.com/4/gaiaprojec ... =414690112– 1 Mine + RL start with economy. Go for GP and adv tech from Nav. build mine on all gaia planets. While doing that take 3P/TS and go up INT. Finish with GP 5. Did not bother with science. 3 Feds in the end. Pretty sure there are some improvements possible in round 6. I was very close to building another RL.

Morgause179 vs. Automa126 - Never played Firaks before. Firaks are weird. Focused on Econ and Science early game. Made some BIG mistakes in the midgame and really struggled after that, ended up building all 3 feds in the final round and grabbing the advanced tech on Science and the top spot on gaiaforming.

Chessmaster_Hex 181 vs Automa 126
https://boardgamearena.com/10/gaiaproje ... =414425413
Went for Gaia-Project, Nav and AI and mostly tried scoring Points by placing mines and later on for placing tradeposts. Unfortunatly Automa bought the "Points for placing mines" in Nav right under my nose.
Could certainly have made more points by making better decicions while staying true to those tech paths, in the end I only got 2 alliances e.g. which feels very wrong under the given circumstances.

Science and economy focus early, then nav and terraforming mid game and finally AI/QIC track at the end to fuel taking the QIC actions during the last round. I think it could have been better taking the 3pt/Gaia planet in the second to last round to synergize with the round bonus.

Good score. I hope you never lose the enjoyment of playing board games.
Your early move up gaiaforming is interesting. Yes, VP for mines looks a good option, but HH moves fast up nav. You might be interested in replaying Markus_12's game, where he managed to take it and scored 263!Chessmaster_Hex wrote: ↑04 September 2023, 16:01 Went for Gaia-Project, Nav and AI and mostly tried scoring Points by placing mines and later on for placing tradeposts. Wow! Firstly, I'm glad you won this game because I don't think your losing game could have gone into the elite, despite the high score . 263 without any round booster VPs is staggering. 88 tech VP! All 12 transdims and gaia taken! And from a RL+2m start. Congratulations.
Thank you all for contributing to the solo challenge. Score lists updated.

LupinePrototype 201 vs Ultoma 167
https://boardgamearena.com/table?table=414747300
RL+2m opening, Focussed on Eco first but advanced a bit on all tracks by round 5.
Last round I took the advanced tech on top of Sci, reached top of Sci and Terra tracks (48VP in end game research scoring).
The Ultoma bot flies up the Nav track to take the advanced tech there really early, so I might try again at another difficulty to try that strategy.
