Board Game Arena

I'm trying to figure out how to negotiate a deal with the other players. I clicked the Make a Deal button, and I can play cards from my hand toward the deal. However, clicking on other player names does nothing, and the only button is Breakdown, which I assume means to cancel the deal and end my turn? Does anyone know how this works on BGA? I'm the only player with the spinning hourglass (we're playing a turn-based game), so there must be something I need to do to alert them that there's a deal in progress.
