Abandon a Game : how does it work ?

Hello,

Just wondering what are the exact conditions to be fullfilled so that a game can be abandonned ?
Especially when some players are not responding, due to connection issues etc.?

I did not find it described in the FAQ.
Regards,

Y.

I would like to know as well. Just now we managed to abandon a game when 5 people were for and 2 people weren't voting, one of them offline. Apparently it's not needed to expel anyone to abandon, but what are specific rules?

If you want to know what triggers voting - It's one of the options when you choose to quit game.

At any time you can click quit icon in upper right corner. You will be then presented following options:
You are about to quit a game in progress.
This will cost you some for this game, and 1 for your reputation.
Note: If you feel you are forced to quit the game because an opponent is not playing, you should eject him from the game instead of quitting the game.

[Quit game anyway]

[Concede the game] (no leave penalty)

[Propose to abandon the game collectively] (no points lost!)

[Just bring me back to the main website]

[Cancel]
I'm not 100% sure how these options exactly work.
From my experience when you propose to abandon the game and players decide to do so - it is like the game never happened. It's not recorded on your profile page nor game rankings.
For the following options here are my guesses, because I didn't try these options:

- Quit game anyway - you're out, lost and receive leave penalty
- Concede the game - it's like you just lost. I have no idea how it works in the middle of 3 or more player game.
- Just bring me back to the main website - I think you're still at the table then but maybe like a zombie player

And if your opponent is not playing it's better to expel him (as quit message says), because then he will receive penalty and you will not lose ELO points.

It would be good if someone with better knowledge could confirm what I have written above or correct any errors.
