Because it's a no luck chess-like game.

Why make it restrictive when you got freedom?

Because I want to learn faster, rather than playing randomly, lol

If you're just looking for joseki/opening theory, I don't think any has been posted. At least not to my knowledge.

Yeah I think it’s still being explored so far.

Before the pie rule it seems as though if white’s first move is in the centre it might be too good.

So some balance between giving black better access to the centre, being a bit closer, and still giving white some space to contest it but it costs them a move to do so seems kind of balanced.

Once the game is complicated it should balance out I mean. Sometimes I like to experiment with sacrificing the pie stone as white to get an extra move in the centre or attack started.

Other times maybe it’s better to defend before attacking.

I would like to review the recent tournament games to see what kind of pies were offered.

You can have a look for some ideas here

You could also look at some of the recent arena games of the players playing there and see what pies they’ve been offering :)
