Give players a 4-minute-per-half-hour-of-expected-game-time grace period

Ok. All the time, I’m getting booted from games because my phone died or my dog needed something or some tiny thing like that. I spend all the rest of the game taking my turns pretty fast and then get booted because I suddenly have to be gone for 2 minutes and other players boot me. I’m sure this happens to others, too. Maybe once every 1-3 games, I get booted because I can’t make it on time for one turn. Can we please make it so that a player has a total of 4 minutes of being late for turns in their game per half hour of expected game time before other players can boot them? Maybe players can lose just a few karma points each time they’re late? Players shouldn’t have to lose 20 karma points for being 15 seconds late and after one or two bad days, lose the ability to play in the arena or comment in the games’ chats because of these lateness karma point losses.

From a fellow dog owner - if you often have interruptions, it would be better to play fastest turn-based games - in my experience they are usually played almost in real-time, but no one will boot you if you're out for ten minutes.

It's not fair to other players who expect to play in real-time to make them sit around kicking their heels. The timing options here are very flexible, so just stick to something which works for you, don't expect other people to stick to something which works for you.
