Does this work well as an asychronous/turn-based game?

My group is interested in playing Anachrony, but we're trying to focus on turn-based/asych games to fit them into our busy days. Is that doable with Anachrony?

Well i think he particulary shine for asynchronous game. There is a L.O.T of optimisation and reflexion especially when you arrive on the last turn. Even of you had a bad start, you can make good comeback.
This is not like chess where you just fall into the abyss you have created when you make a mistake at the beginning.
I dont even mention all the module to spice your game ^^
Ps : in an Anachrony Forum, i think you'll get only good feedback ^^

Yes, it works well turn-based, although it can take a while to finish a game. If everyone is willing to make several moves each day, then you can finish a game in several days. But, if people are only going to log on and play once or twice a day, it'll take several weeks. If that doesn't bother you, then the game plays quite well turn-based, and you don't have to worry about somebody being prone to AP like in a live game.

I really like this game a lot, but if you had to press me on a criticism of some kind, it doesn't adapt to BGA all that well for turn-based. There are a number of mini-moves within 1 full turn. It hurts the flow of the game. I'd say Lost Ruins of Arnak has the same issue. Now a game like Castles of Burgundy is great for turn-based, everyone gets to complete their turn in one attempt. Have fun out there!
