How do I leave a completed game?

Sorry for the stupid question but I'm new here.
I completed a real time game of Arnak earlier. The game was completed.

Two hours later I tried to play another, and was told I couldn't as this was still on going.
I tried a number of options to end the game including "Return to main site" - none worked.Eventually I did the option "quit the game", but that was apparently wrong as this came up on top of the game:
"Player Halliron was out of time (or quit this game) and lost this game (at 100% of the game progression).
All other players will be considered winners.
This may be frustrating, so quitting players get a penalty on their Karma (☯). If you want to avoid this situation in the future, play with opponents with a good Karma."
And I got a hit to my reputation for leaving a game early! (2 hours after it ended). A little frustratiing.
What is my correct procedure here?
