What to do when a game is unplayable?

Is there anything that can be done when a game becomes unplayable besides filing a bug report? I'm on a turn-based Anachrony table (the game is released, not in alpha or beta) where it is supposed to be my turn and the table now refuses to load. Other players are also unable to load the game. We gave thumbs up to a bug report on this issue, but it has been filed on April and so far there has been no answer from the developer.
Now BGA always shows the table on my to-play list, but it is impossible to play or even to quit the game. This is the second table in a row for the same game where this happened near the end of the game.

Not really. If anyone is able to load the game, they can propose to abandon, but that will only be doable once all other players are out of time (or also agree). Looking at your table though, I'm not even sure it is running? It's not showing anyone's time ticking down, but I don't know what it means behind the scenes.
On an aside, I've played a few games of Anachrony (only 2p, and a few months ago) and not had this problem, so I'm guessing it is an intermittent, or specific set of conditions causing the bug, even though it's burned you twice (so it's not every game is my point). If you haven't already, it may be worth actually commenting on the bug as well as voting for it, as that MIGHT get it a bit more attention? But depends if the dev is active, which as volunteers, they aren't always.

Yeah, I know it doesn't happen always, as we were able to finish several tables before the bug happened the first time. Having two tables in a row become unplayable and both near the end of the game means it is not worth it to keep trying, unfortunately.
I did comment on the bug both times, still no answer there.

The game developer is programming the game itself, but not loading the game seems to be a bug in the BGA framework. So you should write a bug report for the BGA website
https://boardgamearena.com/bugs?game=0 in general, not for the game (I am not quite sure which one you did).
A turn-based game is automatically closed after 40 days without player action:
https://boardgamearena.com/faq?anchor=f ... cleangames So hopefully this will happen soon (as with your first buggy game).

Change the game URL to instead of showing the game to instead show
https://boardgamearena.com/table?table=
With the table number for your specific one in the URL. This will show you the game in progress lobby from the main website rather than trying to load something that wont load. There should be an option to quit there. It may have a penalty associated with it but a small price to pay to get that game out of there. You might message others about that so they also see how to do it and drop that broken table.
