Board Game Arena

I discovered this fine game a few days ago and I've been playing quite a lot of B it recently, mostly 2-player, and I have a view I'd like to present to the community.

The question What is the sum of your Black/White tiles? seems way more powerful than any other question. If my opponent gets both of these questions, it's almost certain they will win, regardless if they are first or second.

Do you agree?

Most definitely two of the strongest questions, even having one as the starting player is already a pretty significant advantage. But I don't think it's game breaking.

It's just part of the luck of the game whether you get good or bad questions. You just have to make the best out of it and maximize your win percentage.

Absolutely. I virtually always go for those questions. (runner-up last season; overtaken by real-time player at the end lol)
If possible, never let them get 2 out of the 3 questions (black sum, white sum, color neighbors). Also, knowing a color sum together with total sum has guaranteed me the win nearly every time.

That said, there are often still options if you aren't able to get the best questions. Other deductions you can home in on, other ways to deny what the opponent needs while still making progress toward their code, etc.

Having gained some more experience, I conclude that the "sum of specific colour" is not as overpowered as I initially thought. They are certainly top tier cards but the "consecutive numbers" and "consecutive same colour cards" are almost as good. The general sum cards are also pretty useful but on a tier below those others.
