Guessing After Opponent Is Incorrect?

Is there a reason why players in a two-player game aren't allowed to continue playing after an opponent guesses incorrectly? Yes, I may secure a "win," but it would be much more satisfying if I could verify my answer before being told the solution by BGA. I understand that the rules indicate that this is a win by default, but that's sort of frustrating from the perspective of a player for whom deducing the solution is just as if not more important than securing a BGA win. Maybe this is more of a suggestion for the designers to consider a rulebook revision, but I'm wondering if anybody else feels the same way.
