Board Game Arena

So I am creating my first ever tournament and was looking at other tournament settings for some inspiration. I found one where you will play 20 matches and each game can go for a maximum of 30 days.... That means worst case this tournament will go on for 20 months? Am I missing something here? This seems like a crazy long time for a tournament no matter how much you love the game.

Yeah, it happens. I'm in a tournament that's running 15 days per game, 20 matches. It apparently started in December of last year (which is not something I knew til I just went and looked). I don't especially notice - I play the tournament games when they come up, in amongst my other games. What's the issue with the tournament running a long time? If you're the sort of player who is impatient to get to the end and find out who won the tournament, then I would expect you wouldn't join such a tournament.

Not sure there is anything "wrong" with it. Was just surprised when I started noticing that as the set time for some of these tournaments.
