Tournaments for cooperative games

I'm not sure this has been floated before, but what if there was a tournament for cooperative games. Take a knockout for Skyteam for example. You could have teams of two compete against each (with identical starting positions) playing against another team of two. Successful team goes through.

Is this possible? Can it be made possible? I just think it could add a bit of fun to the coop space (a space I do enjoy).

That's a very cool idea if it can be done.

Playing 'duplicate' is the only reasonable way you could arrange a coop tournament (its not an unknown format, sometimes used in Bridge with the cards pre-stacked in a particular way). You are probably asking for a pretty huge investment of time on the part of the sites staff (rather than individual developers) to build an architecture that would support it, and given how toxic the play community for coops is on BGA one has to wonder if building them a further competitive environment would be considered a high priority (can you imagine the number of 'X cheated at' threads that would appear in the forums). However, if you want it you can propose these sorts of things using the bug system (there is an option for 'suggestion').

This unfortuantly will be ignored. They haven't done anything to tournaments for over 2 years :(
